getting internal variable values out to local variables

Dear all,
I am new, and this may be already covered somewhere?
I use my Chameleon 2 addressed from a BB4W (BBC for Windows - BASIC) environment. The one thing I cannot work out - how to transfer the values held in the internal variables, such as '?' to local variables in the programming environment. I have tried INPUT#, BGET#, READ# etc and cant find a suitable statement / command. I can send commands TO the board, but cannot retrieve data from it??  Any suggestions would be appreciated.  ... Re: getting internal variable values out to local variables

I have worked it out myself now - it was simple: all I had to do was 'reply$=GET$#port%'  This gave me the text reply which from the analog port was "adc 1 nnnn"  where 1= the channel I was looking at, and nnnn is the decimal value returned (0 to 1048). I  just had to extract the value string from the rest of the reply, and then get the VAL() of it.  Thanks and Hi to everyone on here .... Leslie
